Welcome to Hidden Elk Escape, where you can have a relaxing weekend getaway or a fun-filled family vacation! Less than 10 miles from Buffalo National River, Ozark National Forest, Boxley Valley Elk Herd, Whitaker Point, Lost Valley, and other popular hiking trails. It’s the perfect base for exploring all the area has to offer, including hiking, canoeing/kayaking, elk-watching, rock climbing, and more. After a day of adventures, come home and relax by the fire while enjoying mountaintop serenity!
The Space
The rental is a 950-square-foot, 2018 manufactured home. It is fully-furnished with two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a washer and dryer. There is a fully-equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker, pots and pans, and utensils. The home has WiFi and a smart TV for streaming movies and TV shows, in addition to board games, puzzles, and reading materials. There is also a charcoal grill, fire pit, picnic table, and outdoor chairs available for guests to enjoy. The home is decorated with artwork and photography by local artists.
Guest Access
Our home is located on Hwy 21 and it’s easily accessible via car or motorcycle. Parking is available in the gravel driveway next to the home.
There is a ramp that provides access to the home for those who have difficulty with steps.
Other Details
Please be aware that there is another home on the property, with a large outdoor space in between the two homes. Please be respectful of other guests who may be present on the property.
Dogs are allowed, with a $25 per stay fee and a maximum of two dogs (no cats). Dogs must be potty-trained and well-behaved, and they are not to be left unsupervised in the home or on the property at any time. Dogs must be leashed while outdoors, for their safety and for the safety of other guests and pets who may be on the property. You will be charged an additional fee for any damages or extra cleaning required because of your dog.
We are located in a rural area, so there is potential to encounter wildlife, snakes, spiders, wasps, insects, or other critters. Children must be supervised at all times. We are located on a state highway, so there is some potential for traffic noise.
It is important to note that there is limited cell phone signal in the area. The closest gas station is 10 miles away in Ponca. We advise that you bring your own food and alcoholic beverages, as the nearest grocery store and liquor store is over 45 minutes away.
